I did try the potato thing. Didn't think to 'peel' the potato first. Will try that. Thanks for the info. I do use rooting hormone too. I thought if I didn't peel the potatoes I might have them growing. Peeling gets rid of the eyes that sprout.

Today I did some repotting of a few plants. I had about six Christmas cactus so I grouped them in 2 pots. They will be lovely if they bloom for Christmas. Never had much luck with that reward. I would like to repot my orchids too but I have to get some soil and moss. I am going to do my orchid cactus. It gave me a scanty number of flowers in the last three weeks. Last year the flowers were numerous and those came in the Spring. Got another cactus like plant. Ever heard of dragon fruit? Well it resembles a cactus but without the spines that can prick fingers. One plus the fruit is large and it can be eaten. I wonder what the flowers look like. Hmmm. Do a search. Oh my. I will have to move back to the tropics and buy an orchard. Will remember to take a wheelbarrow. www.shutterstock.com/search/dragon+fruit+flower

Where has the week gone. The days are just flying and the are shorter. The leaves are slowly changing colour, a big chore ahead to rake and shred leaves. But it is black gold for the gardens. Washing today so will have to get to it..

Don't know if anyone cares but I will post some fall pics anyway for those who like. The dahlias seem to like Fall because they are really full of blooms. I was thinking I wouldn't save the tubers for next year but I will after all, after frost. So here goes full of blooms:
