I thought about spraying and soaking my cactus yesterday. the thoughts still there. Didn't get to doing it yet. Gifting is a good idea. I have sometimes put some out front with a free sign, they go quick.

It isn't very busy where I live but I could try. It's getting pretty close for the yellow hibiscus to open. What do you think? This little rose was a 2" piece that broke off when I was dead heading. It hasn't grown much but it is flowering. I wish the stuff I put in the ground grew as readily. I will have to put a bottle over it for the Winter and hope it survives.

That yellow hibiscus will be so pretty.
Do you keep the soil real moist in that container with the rose then?

I watered it when it looked dry. No special effort because I wasn't counting on it taking root. I have tried rooting roses, no luck. I am not always lucky so I decided to try something that I saw on the internet. That is putting the cuttings in a potato. So I peeled the potato, drilled a hole, dipped the cutting in hormone powder and stuck it in the hole and planted. I did that about a week ago. The cuttings are still green and the weather is now ideal, turning a little bit cooler. Not hot and dry as it's been all Summer.

I did try the potato thing. Didn't think to 'peel' the potato first. Will try that. Thanks for the info. I do use rooting hormone too.

Keep in touch so we can compare. I have put the bottles over the recent cuttings I planted directly into the ground, with the stoppers removed from the bottles. Did you take a cutting of the rose you wanted to move?

This is a geranium with bunches of mini blooms resembling tiny roses. The plant is in a pot and is about 2-3' tall.

Did you take a cutting of the rose you wanted to move? No. I've done nothing with that dang rose. I've been trying to clean up the rest of the yard. Fall is upon us here. Everything needs to be cut back. I can only do so much these days, most days I'm not feeling well. I'm only half done with the work. Most of my veggies in the garden are done. Waiting for the butternut squash to fully mature. Soon they will be ready to pick. According to what I've read they will be mature when the plant begins to die off. It's not ready yet. I can't wait to dive into one of those. I love baked squash.

Yellow hibiscus in focus. Well, a little bit of a surprise with the yellow hibiscus. It didn't give me a double flower but it still beautiful. White center and yellow petals. Also the flowers were large and there are still lots of buds. I have now moved the hibiscus that I am going to bring in for the Winter. I have been conditioning them for a week now. This was Two days ago this was yesterday this is today

Zinnias are lovely this time of year. Your yard looks beautiful. Not sure what kind of lily that is. So many varieties these days. Tiger Lily (Lilium lancifolium) maybe. Check here, there may be a match.: www.flowerglossary.com/types-of-lilies/
