Islangrl, I just love your flower variety. Really love that cactus flower. Is it very old? I can't seem to get cactus to flower. Do you feed it? All you flowers are beautiful. Yes, tis the season for the end of the flowers. Will you do any fall flowers?

My indoor plants that I put outside this year are doing well. Mostly hibiscus but the flowers lasts only a day or two. Many are in bud and may not open before the frost. I am going to start getting them ready to bring inside. I will spray them with soapy water and soak the complete pot in a soapy solution to kill the bugs. If not. I will have an infestation of spider mites on the leaves and other bugs like ants and airwigs in the soil. hibiscus in bloom.

It was another hot day today but we did get an afternoon shower. Still hoping for some cooler weather. I planted and potted some rose cuttings I got last weekend. I have to dig some stuff out in order to plant the potted cuttings in October. Hopefully they will be successfully rooted. Cuttings are in the white pail. Pot of profusion zinnias. They are a compact variety. More blooms today on the perennial and indoor hibiscus. Still many buds to open. I divided this plant last year but the part I moved didn't make it. I will have to baby this one so that it thrives.

Now some blooms on the tropical hibiscus. I have been patiently waiting for these to flower. I am pleased. The peach is the first year blooming, I got the cutting from a cousin last year. The double red is a new plant I started as a cutting from my larger plant. Double red Peach This light pink has red center _

Some of the potted rose cuttings. Zinnias finally performing. Note the swallowtail butterfly. Butterflies and hummingbirds love zinnias.

My desert rose is blooming but not many. It would make me happy to see it covered in blooms but spider mites are a big problem for these plants. Being outside for the Summer would have been better but I didn't want to lose it. _

Islandgrl, All of you Hibiscus are so very lovely. I have the rose luna hibiscus this year. I hope it survives the winter. Not bringing any outside plants inside this year. I'm downsizing my inside plants. All except my cactus of course. They have to be outside in the summer, they grow bigger there and are now getting huge. I've two.
But I used to soak and wash down all my plants before bring them in. My cactus will get that treatment.

I am going to be doing that next week. Weather is getting cooler and that means my tropicals are looking for warmer conditions. I repotted some smaller plants today. half a chore done. I am considering pruning my tall hibiscus's but I hate cutting off all the buds. Another option is gifting the big, tall ones to somebody because I have smaller ones that are doing well. That's my cutting back I got gifted a new plant this week. A black fig plant. Hoping it doesn't grow too big. No leaves yet. Will post a pic later.
