I guess you've all read about this by now, the leaked draft which is causing brain farts and putting the left in a tizzy, especially the Liberals in Canada.
They have latched onto this to start the fear mongering about Conservatives, one would think we are in election mode. I really hate how the Liberals use women as a political tool for their own ends. The sky is falling the sky is falling... Conservatives will make abortion illegal!! Well, no they won't, they are not in power and even if they win next time, the current leader has reiterated what Stephen Harper said, not not not ever.

I have been following this because I belong to a political forum in the U.S. I haven't seen much backlash in Canada and what little I have seen is protests by women. In my town they held a rally. It was peaceful with speeches and whatever.
The leak which is about 90 pages long shows that the Supreme Court will reverse the Roe v Wade decision which took place over 50 years ago. It was a conservative Supreme Court that instituted it.
The problem is one of precedent. Kavenaugh says it has been reaffirmed.
Wednesday was the second day of Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing, and the senators' opening questions revolved around three issues: Kavanaugh’s beliefs regarding the extent of presidential power, gun control, and abortion.
Is Roe v. Wade “settled law,” Feinstein asked Kavanaugh, “or can it be overturned?”
“It is settled as precedent under the Supreme Court,” Kavanaugh responded. “One of the important things to keep in mind about Roe v. Wade is it has been reaffirmed many times over the years, as you know.”xz
After saying that can he now vote to reverse it?
My own opinion is that they will not reverse Roe v Wade in it's entirety.
States like Texas want to make abortion of any kind illegal.

The S.C. isn't actually reversing it, all they are doing is putting back to the States who should make their own laws.
