Had an interesting conversation this morning. This gal was shopping in Winners dept. store when they tested their emergency alert system which came through her phone. Weird, it shouldn't have but it did and now it won't go away or turn off. Nobody at the store knew what to do and no one at the phone store could help her so she's stuck. I just sent her an email suggesting she go to settings and turn off the emergency alert system, maybe that will do that. Anyone ever here of this happening or what the fix might be? To be clear, this is not the amber alert we get on our cell phones, it was the dept. stores emergency alert.

Delete all notifications.
Obviously that's what it is when it's sent to your phone. If that doesn't work, save everything and do a hard reset back to factory settings.

Hmmm no... it wasn't supposed to come through the phones, it was just in store. They have the emergency alert system turned off (as do I).

It wasn't supposed to come to the phones but it did. So obviously now somehow it bypassed the software in the cell phone and it can't be removed. Time for a reset of the software is all I can suggest or the alert will stay there forever.

They went back to the store, the technician was there so fixed it. They don't know how.

I wondered about the bluetooth. Mine is always on so I can play music in the car.

Bluetooth is a neat feature, I use it quite a bit at home to play music from my tablet onto compatible devices or the vehicle. The thing is, in order for bluetooth to work, you have to pair it with other devices so you don't get unwanted intrusions.
