Did anyone see the swearing in ceremony for the new Cabinet, and if so did you think Trudeau's hugging etc. was appropriate? In no world is this an appropriate workplace interaction. Beyond the abuse of physical boundaries, it sets a bad example for all female workers. How is Anita Anand supposed to clean up sexual harassment in the military when she is forced to acquiesce to this?  |

We watched some of it, and said the same thing. It's slimy to see, and I'm sure some of the females ( and males) felt uncomfortable with his closeness.

I belong to a local political facebook group which is mostly NDP and Liberal, even some commies, I actually am surprised at how left they are, fortunately they are not representative of our riding as it is Conservative again.
However, I posted this in that group but no surprise, they think I'm wrong, It's all good, they are showing how much they think of each other and the women were not coerced. Hmmm, remember Judy Raybould, she got a hug too.

I don't know why they can't just appoint the elected person who will do the best job. Gender parity is OK if everyone has the same qualifications and can do the job, we've seen some real duds appointed over the past 6 years, and I'm sure we'll see more. You'd think Trudeau would improve with experience, but he appears to be getting worse.

I wish they would do that too, I can't imagine how putting a completely unqualified female in as Minister of Defense is good for Canada.
