Illegal drug use is killing thousands and is seriously out of control. The cost in lives is staggering,in $$$ astronomical,in crime uncontrollable and yet 'we' stick with " (insanity is), doing the same things over thinking that there will be a different results.'
Just for discussion,> Prohibition failed. 'Weed' laws failed. Pornography laws failed. Gambling laws failed. Drug laws are seemingly useless. Is there an answer ?
I confess, I have none, ))shrug(( beyond accepting, acknowledging that if there is a demand,a market,a profit to be made, it will be provided.
Why should criminals profit from a commodity that costs 'us' tax payers millions with not a dent in the use or deaths?? Just saying.

It's bad Peeves, I agree. Even worse now that the southern border is open and free for Mexican drug cartels to smuggle in all these drugs. What laws to prevent this from happening? The gov isn't following any laws at all. As for all the druggies hanging out in the streets? What's up with that. Seems governments aren't doing anything to curb this problem. As for legal marijuana? OMG, seems the government would like to dumb down people so they don't notice the take over of communism in this country of mine. Not sure if it's that bad in Canada. Seems the government would like to profit from the sales of marijuana. they like to generate more taxes. Since the government isn't benefitting from cigarette tax anymore, this must be the fix for that.
I'm not against pot smokers or cbd users. Some actually say it helps with the pain. I once tried a few puffs and was carried to my bed! People in pain don't get much relief with medical science these days. Seems to be a lot of people in pain.
The mentally ill people seem to be in abundance these days as well. These people need help. Over here the mental hospitals are few and insurances don't pay. So what are the mentally ill to do? Some years ago I watched so many mental hospitals be torn down, many mentally ill people are living in supervised housing units. These people can come and go as they please. Obviously this isn't working. Those houses either aren't supervised well and maybe the living condition, the government pays for, is simply terrible. So they live on the streets with the junkies. The mental hospitals we used to have housed a lot of people. The surrounding elite neighborhoods didn't want them around, that's why they got rid of them. Those mental people are supposed to take the meds given to them, when they don't they go nuts. I don't see this working.
