I'm having a real problem with my Samsung tablet, it will not connect to the internet. I have a good wifi connection and other devices work but for some reason, this tablet has quit the internet.
When I checked the settings it says: "connected without Internet". 'Tis a puzzlement.
I've ran a cleaner etc., so far so good, I've disconnected/reconnected but no dice. Any ideas.

Thanks, I did read that and the tablet is good, updated and time is good. It has also quit working on my S8 Samsung phone so have been using data to do some stuff, but I don't have a lot of data. Not to mention the screen is too small for my old eyes.
I unplugged the router but strangely, the lights didn't all go out so tried unscrewing the other connection. I failed because there is a round metal piece over it which makes it too difficult to unscrew (I guess it's there to protect accidents) will have another go, failing that, I will turn the power off at the bar for everything. Next step is to ask for a new router I guess.
I tried setting up a new connection using my cell data but it won't save it.
I have been thinking about clearing everything on the tablet by doing a factory reset but will have to save my photos first. They are supposed to be on the SD card but are not and I can't seem to transfer them. Sigh...

I usually download photos to my PC , but don't take many with my tablet. If you have a Gmail account, you have 15 gig of free space on your google drive to save them there, also Samsung gives you 5 gig free on their online drive as well. I save a lot of stuff on my google drive so it's available to all devices, I only save stuff that is backed up elsewhere and nothing sensitive or personal information. A reset would probably do wonders, I've done it a few times with my older tablets, and gives you an opportunity to clean out a lot of crap. I usually do a power off with the power bar about every couple weeks, the router is an electronic device that can get glitches and even can harbor malware. After I let it sit for about 1/2 hour, and power back up, I get a new connection and everything seems to run much faster.

Well, I used my PC to check the router using the 198. I found that you can reboot the router from there, much easier than fiddling with pulling out cables etc. My phone seems to be working, am going upstairs now to check the tablet.

Yes, you can reboot the router from your PC, but not quite the same as a hard reset... or power down. I have my router plugged into a power bar with an on/off switch, just power it off when I want, and power back on at the touch of a button.

I was going to do that this morning but I've been on the phone with them for a while, she did a reset twice, but am still having problems so they are sending a new router. Will have to wait for that. I must say my PC is a lot faster than it was.

Got to admit, I've never seen that before. Maybe for a few seconds as capacitors discharge lights will stay on or flicker, but not for long after being unplugged.

I'll bet your Arris router has a battery backup, so lights will stay on until the battery dies.

I have a Samsung tablet. This is the best I could find.
I know, this sounds stupid. But trust me, I’ve been there and done that. More often than not, you might be facing this issue because your router is not connected to the internet. So, try to connect to that router wirelessly using another device and see if you can access the internet.
If the other devices connected to your WiFi network are not also able to access the Internet, then chances are either your ISP is down (you can confirm this by calling your ISP), or someone has accidentally cut the broadband cable coming to your house (you can confirm this by asking your neighbors who share the same connection) or you have simply exhausted your monthly data plan.

Thanks campy but it wasn't the tablet, the router was old. They sent a new modem so I'm good, although it still gets spotty now and then.
