Seriously, they did.. The Ontario Divisional Court has ruled that the Ontario College of Teachers shall grant certification to teacher candidates who have not yet passed the Math Proficiency Test but who have otherwise met all other teacher certification requirements. The Divisional Court found that the Math Proficiency Test had an adverse impact on entry to the teaching profession for racialized teacher candidates and other reasonable alternatives should have been implemented. “OTF applauds the efforts of the Ontario Teacher Candidates’ Council (OTCC) for pursuing this successful legal challenge. There is no research to suggest that a standardized test would improve student outcomes or enhance teacher pedagogy. Ontario has some of the best educated teachers in the world and this decision reinforces their professionalism,” stated OTF President Chris Cowley. That is really interesting. Math is tough. Those that find it easy is a rarity. It's like music. A gift.
I can do math. But i can't do it fast enough to finish the test on time.

I read that, seems others might have as well though they don't comprehend how this **** is growing like Topsy.
A school board gave more weight to Black, East Indian, Asian or Aboriginal voters.
"But an OSSTF local representing 1,400 members voted by an overwhelming majority to give 50 per cent of all votes to their visible minority voters. If, for example, visible minority votes are a sixth of the voting group, each Black, East Indian, Asian or Aboriginal voter gets five times the vote of a white voter. It is actually even more absurd than that, since it applies to the branch presidents of the local unit so that individual members’ votes will count for more or less depending upon whether their particular representative is racialized.
Of course, that in turn will ensure that voters are compelled to elect persons of colour so they will have more leverage."

This is going too far, it is lowering proficiency and capabiity etc. etc. I can agree that algebra, calculus and trigonometry for instance are not necessary if you teach English or History, but they should be able to pass regular math or business math at least.
