I don't have a link. I copied a post. So this campy claim, "O Toole suggested an election a month ago. He got his wish."
is simply unsubstantiated, what??? Rumour?
Show us that your claim has ANY merit please or explain the basis for that seeming apparently otherwise prevarication . I'd appreciate that info.
In fact I think that if you can't show a source you should retract the claim as in any way credible.
If it's factual that is the first and only time that I have heard such a thing from O'Toole.
I'd really like to know where it came from. OK ?
I think that if a statement, opinion or claim is made here, it would be reasonable to expect a source or perhaps alternatively elucidation on the claim. Otherwise a post or poster might make any claim they can make up. This claim of yours campy, goes against everything that I have read or heard from O'Toole and the other parties. I understand that none supported Trudeau's folly in calling an early election and the 610 million was repeatedly condemned as waste by the media and the other party leaders..
Thanks.

The cost of the election turns out to be a non issue. Where did the money go? Who got it? My predictions were spot on. I really can't fathom how you come to that conclusion, " a non issue".
Simply a false assumption. The media, the parties other than the Liberals and the election coverage all contend the unnecessary election and the 610 million cost were a factor in the outcome. A major factor. Where did what money go.. The 610 million estimate IS what an election costs in and of itself. Add up the # of polls, costs of sites and all and the estimated costs are of 6 million for a Canadian Federal election.
Who got the money? No "who"..It was spent on the phony election costs.
Your predictions were spot on Nearly everyone's predictions were spot on. A minority Liberal Government with a wasted 600 million was the generally expected outcome by polls, pundits and the media.

I feel so much better now that Canadians have spent another 600+ million, listened to 35 days of bullshit and bafflegab, all because of Trudeau's selfish desire for more power. We have ended up exactly where we started, and unfortunately he's still the PM (for now). What a colossal waste of time, money, and likely many were infected with Covid while waiting to vote, if anyone dies due to it, it's all on Trudeau.

So? Sue me. You lost the election. Live with it. I lost the election? We lost nothing. Trudeau failed AND lost in his expectations and you seem to be making statements that are false. "Sue" Why?, it's your credibility to prove or not prove. So far you haven't, so you lost credibility.
Trudeau lost credibility and gained zilch.
Sadly we have to live with an incompetent leader, a school teacher of language and drama, having also been a snowboarding instructor and worked as a bouncer at a nightclub. After several months, he returned to teacher's college, this time to the University of British Columbia, where he earned a Bachelor of Education degree in 1998.
Now I have respect for teachers in my lifetime, but in general they are over paid whining Trudeau supporters because Liberals have always catered to them.
That's what 'WE' have to look forward to.

The voters are to blame. That they accept the stench of the Liberals, of Trudeau and hold their nose for opportunities for more socialistic tax dollars.

Let the scoreboard show how many seats were won and lost in the election. You have been pulling for the Conservatives. They lost.

As was earlier posted.. Posted by windy 3 hours ago There were no winners in this election, all Canadians are the losers.
I never expected more than a Liberal minority, so that's not a loss except for one and all. Conservatives, NDP (no longer 'NEW' get over it socialists) and all other parties 'got' pretty much what the numbers were. So Trudeau lost and everyone knows that. He gambled and lost.
But campy lost credibility by his denigrating claim which should be retracted if it's not verifiable
campy claim, "O Toole suggested an election a month ago. He got his wish." Simply not true.

Methinks Peeves dost protest too much because the Conservatives lost the election.
You doubt my credibility? What else is new? That's been a fact since day one.

After the fact. All the analysis I read shows the cost of the election was not a major factor in the election.
It never is. They all participate in the expense not just one party.

Methinks Peeves dost protest too much because the Conservatives lost the election. You doubt my credibility? What else is new? That's been a fact since day one. Nope. Only when you- or any need be called on a post/opinion/non factual statement as to would I expect similarly of me.
I'm here for fun mostly. I do laugh at some contentious positions and claims. I do attempt to provoke-poke and play devil's advocate. I do attempt to engender discourse. That I reply to posts is to recognize the poster one way or another. If I rather ignored same, there would be less here to dwell on..
Would that not be so ? Things might well be more benign and tranquil,,,,, and boring.
So campy, post what ever you want, but expect to be called on any unsupportable statements. Always, ALWAYS keep in mind that forums content are insignificant in the way of the universe, or, in any real means or manner of import or consequence.

I appreciate your position but I think you go overboard in justifying your position when you spot an error. It's not the end of the world.
I don't intend to spend all my time defending myself against your crusades.
Get over it.

So, Trudeau lost the popular vote. He should not confuse Monday's results as a total political victory. His party has now lost the popular vote two times in a row,. The number of voters were it seems, the lowest ever @ under 60% Thousands have been exposed to Covid infections.
And how does that go? .. "Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results." Yup, Trudeau the incompetent, seems to. One has to be nuts to call an election in a pandemic, with the Afghanistan fiasco, and for no rhyme, reason or purpose beyond personal ambition and he even failed at that.
Now we face his buying the support if the NDP and pissing away more tax payer dollars.
Same old same old. I'm looking for a rising Covid number following the election debacle.
Trudeau, thy name is mud.*
As in
* "Mud is exhaustively defined in the OED as "soft, moist, glutinous material resulting from the mixing of water with soil, sand, dust, or other earthy matter". The word began to be used in a figurative sense as early as the 16th century to refer to things that were worthless or polluting. That usage was later extended to apply to people, as listed in the 1703 account of London's low life, Hell upon Earth:
