The Liberals sent a cheque for $500 to seniors 75 and over and a promise to increase the old age pension in June of 2022 by 10%. Are seniors going to bite the hand that feeds them?

We voted today, no lineup thank goodness. I don't think we are going to get rid of him, I'm betting on another minority with the NDP propping him up. He really should not even get that calling an election in the middle of a pandemic, but too many people like 'free money' Judy Raybould's book might have some impact, it came out yesterday. Glad you all think government handouts do not work in a democracy. Free? what is free? Nothing is really free in life is it? The people who think free is good bury their heads in the sand. For all the good people in Canada, I sure hope he's voted out. I'm anxiously waiting for the results here. Give America Dems a hint at what people think of socialism. And say it loud!

I don't think that he can win. The Liberals MIGHT squeak in, but the fiasco on Trudeau's head will sink him in the party. I think there's a 50-50 chance of a minority Conservative Federal Government.
Trouble is, Canadians are on the whole a bunch of sheep uncaring or ignorant of Trudeau's follies.
O'Toole looks more the Prime mister every day, and Trudeau more the child.

I think not. They slough those flaws off as typical political behaviour and vote by their wallets.
She claims that Trudeau asked her to lie. Like any other ethical issue he denies.

Many- many seniors did not need nor want the bribe. Just another wasteful hand out to many not needing or warranting his unjustified succour waste.

.Another Liberal minority? I'm slowly beginning to doubt it.
It's very hard to tell from what the media feeds us. There is a lot of bias, usually subtle but sometimes obvious as hell! It may sound strange coming from someone like me, who tends to pride himself on being a "head" person as opposed to a "heart" person but I find feelings to be influencing me the most during this campaign.
For the life of me I just can't find people who approve of Justin! I know there must be some but I never see or hear them in my circle, both locally face to face and by extension online. He absolutely needs to find new voters to win. Where are they? Even the ridings in the GTA are no longer safe for him. A large number have already become "up for grabs".
Remember here in Ontario when Kathy Wynne fell from grace? Virtually no talking head in our media predicted the provincial Liberals being reduced to less than legal party status! They talked about Kathy maybe slipping to a minority. Some weren't even willing to go that far. Yet election day came and Ontario voters overwhelmingly rejected them.
The new factor that made it possible was they finally got a better alternative. Pat Brown had followed Tim Hudak, of the "Liberal Lite" persuasion. Such Conservatives rarely win! Maybe voters today are more Leftwing than they used to be but not as far as Tory campaign advisers seemed to think. At the last minute Brown was unceremoniously turfed out and Doug Ford was in. Some might not feel he worked out any better but at the time he actually seemed to be what the Tory voters were impatiently demanding - a Conservative! They didn't need another Liberal choice!
Andrew Scheer lost because he was a closet evangelical. Still, he won his party a lot of new seats, just not enough. That indicated to me that if he was a bit more in tune with voters in Ontario and Quebec he could well have won the election.
O'Toole is much more attractive to an Eastern Canada voter. The Liberals are well aware of this. I been watching Trudeau's media scrums and he is talking outright mean about O'Toole! There is a strong note of desperation.
Quebec is another big factor. Quebec voters are often referred to as "fickle" but I've never thought so. I've noticed that they just like to back winners! They do tend to vote Liberal but only because that's the "natural governing party" here in Canada. When an upset like Mulroney comes along the Quebecois comes on board, usually in the final few days of the campaign.
Perhaps they simply think the winner can give them more. Whatever, it does seem to always happen. If Quebec decides Justin is going to lose we could see a sea change of ridings going to the other parties. I don't think the NDP would win much. Their previous success seemed to have solely depended on the personality of Jack Layton and has been withering away ever since until they have only one seat remaining in La Belle Province. The BQ and the Conservatives would fight over the new offerings and those numbers could only help O'Toole.
To sum up, I'm getting the same sort of feeling I had when the Ontario Liberals became a minivan party! I'm not ready to give a definite prediction but I really feel something the media is missing is brewing.
If Liberal chances are so good for Justin Kardashian then why is he considering a gravel ban? None of the other parties are attracting such whacko attention.

Did you keep the cheque or send it back? Many thousands will as well? Seniors have seen and done it all over time. Their thinking now is "don't knock it, get a piece of it" Seniors are unique. They vote.

Everyone commenting here that Trudeau is going to lose the election seem to me to be right wingers.
You can't be impartial when you are hoping.
I voted for Harper.
I kept the cheque. O Toole is offering nothing concrete for seniors. The NDP is offering more. They will be taking votes from both parties.

Wild Bill Above post truncated for brevity. That's a good read and also my thoughts. Trudeau is sounding absolutely school yard childish and must be wishing that maybe he should have waited. His timing was absolutely disastrous and he will pay a price. BTW My heart takes a back seat in politics to my head, spleen and middle finger.

So you are going to vote for conservatives because you don't believe in free lunches? There's no postage on the letters I get from O Toole. Canadians think their Healthcare compared to the U.S. is superior and it was started by a socialist. Canada has the best of both worlds. Three parties instead of two. Sorry I don't believe in the trickle down theory of economics. Skimming off the top and getting the dregs? We have been fighting the war on poverty for how long now? Lake Chouiching I remember from ages ago.
