To accommodate non-traditional families it would seem.
I don't get the logic. What it does is dilute the importance of a Mother or a Father. Dilutes the family unit, whatever that might be. Where's the fun for a kid gone in the giving of a card as a gift. It's all this politically correct nonsense for fear of offending any minority group.
Why couldn't they let the kids just make two Mother's cards or two Father's cards in the case of same sex parents? My dad died when I was 9 and yet no one had to tippy toe around me when it was Father's Day just because I didn't have one and others had.
I despair of the world sometimes.

My grandchildren except for one were raised with a stepfather and a father they buy for both they just accept the fact no drama for them, this politically correct crap is starting to get tedious and most people they're doing it for except for a small minority couldn't care less.

IMO people are starting to get fed up with it, and rightly so.
