I don't know if it happens in other countries but in Australia things you buy in the supermarket are getting smaller in size they drop the size still charge the same or more, there was a packet of crackers that I liked the cracker ended up smaller in size and the overall weight was less for the packet the old size was perfect for cheese etc I've noticed cereal packets, blocks of chocolate cans of things just a bit here and there has anyone else noticed a discrepancy in size weight etc?

They sure are, bacon is the first thing that comes to mind; they must think consumers are stupid and won't notice it.

I guess that is true in one way. I have shrunk to 5 ft. but funny how my belly has not shrunk. What gives here? Not fair I tells you.

Rosie, you are too funny----hahaha! I don't quite remember why they decreased the volume of package foods. There was a reason I know.
Shame you think your getting the full pound of something for the price, but NOT anymore.

They did it to make more money... I`ve certainly shrunk, I`ve lost a good inch in height which I can`t afford to do.

Cheez Whiz is another example that comes to mind. The jar used to be 1kg (1000 grams) and went on special for $5.97 but the last time I bought it now it's 950grams. At least they haven't raised the price........YET! I'm another one that is shrinking but that's only vertically. Horizontally I'm larger so it must be sliding down.

We don't often buy hot dogs, but last week I had an urge for wieners and beans (my comfort food) . My favourite is Maple Leaf Top Dogs, so went to the meat section and grabbed a pack. I thought it seemed small, and I was right.. only 10 wieners and 375 grams, but the same price as last time. Last time I bought them, and as long as I can remember, it's been 450 grams and 12 wieners. Grrrrr, Like bacon, now most are 375 grams instead of 500, so we buy the 4 pack of bacon at Costco.. still 4 - 500 gram packs for under $5 a pack. Most things are getting less for more money, these companies must think the consumer is dumb, and probably many are or don't notice.

It's not that we are dumb, it is just because we can't do anything about it. Remember when they almost gave away wings, well I am old so I do. Now what I cannot figure out is how many chickens are running around with about 8 wings on them. Every place sells chicken wings. hahahahah man made ones of course. Now they charge an arm and a leg for them.

It's the same in the UK. Take cigarettes. They stopped selling them in packs of 20 .. down to 19 ...down to 18 ...down to 17.
I said to the lady on the till that at that rate I'd manage to give up as I'd eventually be buying an empty packet.
